School is back in session in Ann Arbor, and the University of Michigan Students are actively pursuing internships, while pondering their career opportunities. At Aysling we’re fortunate enough that our interns want to return to our comfortable habitats, and continue with the outdated movie quotes, random pong tournaments, and team lunches/outings (we really do get a lot of work done, we promise, I mean what other software company has a monthly update full of improvements, additions, and upgrades?)

Today, take a moment to welcome back our Senior Software Engineer Intern, Travis Spuller!

What’s your name?

Travis Spuller

What is your job title at Aysling?

Senior Software Engineer Intern

So, what does that mean you actually do?

I took the job hoping to get the office coffee, make copies, and clean up around the office. Sadly, I actually do productive work by somehow transforming Maghub into something beautiful while trying not to destroy it in the process.

How long have you worked at Aysling?

For about 15% of my life. Not sure how I feel about that. Fun Fact #1: After reviewing this answer, we decided to see how many years it would be until Travis has worked 99% of his life, I believe we were somewhere in the year 3,000, thanks spreadsheets.

What is your favorite thing about working at Aysling?

I enjoy spending the day with my coworkers. I enjoy coming to the office and feel as if it is my second home. It’s a very inviting environment that also makes me feel that I’ve accomplished something productive at the end of each day. I can’t wait to buy the company when my startup takes off.

What is/was your favorite magazine publication?

Has to be National Geographic. It reminds me there is a world outside of the office. Thus why our Creative Director, Claire decorated our offices with a nature friendly theme.

If you had to publish your own magazine, what would it be about?

That’s easy. Moles. There are so many intricate details that the public needs to come to understand about these beautiful creatures. Stories about their origin to becoming the enemy of the suburbs would be discussed. The name of it would Moles: Beyond Those Holes.

What is the one piece of software you cannot live without?

Grammarly. Without it me grammer and speling is soo bed.

What is your favorite season?

Summer. Fun Fact #2: Travis is an avid frolfer.

If you could live in any movie/television show, which one would it be? And why?

Dora the Explorer, so I could fill in the awkward silences when she asks a question and stares at the screen blankly for no reason.

Board, Card, or Video Games?

Video Games

Favorite type of sandwich?

BLT. Obviously.

Interesting fact about yourself?

I’m an All-State and All-American hurdler. Even though I hate running, I can’t stand to lose. Fun Fact #3: Travis is also our resident dab’ber and floss’er, he also does them together upon request.

And finally, what is your favorite quote/lyric (movie, television show, song, or inspirational)?

There is not a single moment in life when you do not have everything that you need to be happy”

– Anthony de Mello
